The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Niga is defended easily by Santos .
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!

Santos is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Niga can't fight it off and eventually Santos manages to take the fight to the floor. Niga looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Santos slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Santos thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Niga pushes Santos away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Santos gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Santos takes a little break here. Niga wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Santos has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Santos has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Niga is trying to keep an underhook but Santos manages to get the takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Niga tries to lock up and control but Santos gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Santos postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Niga looks a forlorn figure.
Santos unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Niga wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Santos celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
