PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Scott Hess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chace Orrin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orrin throws a push kick but Hess slaps the foot to one side.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hess.

Orrin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Orrin wants to control but Hess is keeping him busy.

Orrin stands up.

Orrin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hess manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Orrin gets to his feet. Hess looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Chace Orrin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Orrin scores with a takedown into Hess's guard.
Hess might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Orrin wants to get up but he can't break Hess's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Chace Orrin has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Hess really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Orrin darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Orrin is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Hess reverses the position - he's now on top in Orrin's guard.

Orrin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hess can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hess would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Orrin has an active guard here but Hess has managed to pass into half guard.

Chace Orrin dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hess tries for a takedown but Orrin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Orrin moves into the clinch.

Orrin manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Orrin manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Hess tries to sprawl but Orrin drives through with a takedown into half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Orrin is taking a breather. Hess says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Orrin decides to return to a standing position.

Orrin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Orrin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Orrin is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Orrin cracks Hess with a big right hand but Hess just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Orrin has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Orrin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hess manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Hess is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Orrin is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Chace Orrin wasn't active enough on the ground.

Orrin drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Oh Hess is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Orrin slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Orrin's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Orrin arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Hess's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
