Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jay Lord (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Killa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killa fails with an attempt to clinch.

Killa drives through and clinches with Lord against the cage.

Killa decides to pull guard.

Killa has his foot on Lord's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lord works his way back into a safe position though.

Killa looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lord seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Killa keeping moving, preventing Lord from controlling successfully.

Killa looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Lord passes into half guard.

Lord thows a huge punch but Killa dodges it nicely.
Lord content to control rather than advance.

Killa looking for submissions off his back.
Lord moves into full mount! Killa won't be happy about that!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Killa taking shots to the head.
Lord landing strikes from the mount and Killa is in trouble!
Lord looking to control but Killa is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lord punishing his opponent with strikes.
Lord tries to control but Killa wriggling away.
Killa is looking to improve his position but Lord isn't that keen on the idea.
Killa looks gassed!

Killa tries to hold on but Lord pushes him away.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lord is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Lord has taken the fight to the clinch.
Killa takes an elbow to the temple.
Lord is stalling here.
Killa tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lord just stands there and leans against the cage.

Lord unloads a knee to the mid-section. Killa lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Lord escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Killa tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Lord counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Killa wants to control but Lord is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lord keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Killa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lord is working away from the top position though.
Lord seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Lord closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Killa pulls guard.
Lord sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Lord trying to control but Killa is working from the bottom.
Killa is breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Killa keeping full guard, as Lord tries to pass.

Lord wants to control from the top but Killa keeps moving.

Killa looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Killa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Killa pulls Lord in close to prevent any damage.
Lord slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Killa working a defensive guard but Lord passes into half guard.
Lord wants to take a breather but Killa is having none of it.
Lord takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lord looks to land a strike but Killa avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Lord pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Killa is keeping the position for now.
Lord controlling from the top position.

Lord trying to control the position from guard on top but Killa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Killa is looking for a triangle but Lord pushes his legs off easily.
Lord advances position into side control!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
A lull in the action here as Lord stalls from top position.

Lord has hold of Killa's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Killa seems comfortable defending it but Lord has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Killa is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Killa is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Lord couldn't care less - he's delighted!
