PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Wobinson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Fabian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fabian has chosen Fade To Black as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Anthony Taglia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wobinson shoots in but Fabian avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Wobinson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Fabian as he jumps to the side.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wobinson.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Wobinson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Fabian holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Wobinson is fighting off a takedown attempt but Fabian is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wobinson to the mat. Wobinson regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Wobinson is looking for a triangle but Fabian pushes his legs off easily.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Wobinson can't keep his opponent in guard - Fabian advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Fabian misses with a head shot. Wobinson uses the momentum to regain guard.
Fabian lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Wobinson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fabian gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

It looks like Fabian might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

I really don't envy Wobinson right now.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Fabian is hanging on to Wobinson's back as he tries to escape.

Fabian is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Wobinson is defending well though. Fabian let's go of the attempt for now.

Fabian is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Fabian is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Wobinson has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fabian slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Wobinson covers up after that shot from Fabian.

Fabian is trying to stick to Wobinson's back but Wobinson is turning into Fabian. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Fabian's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Wobinson.
Fabian manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wobinson manages to get himself to full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Michael Fabian showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Fabian has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Wobinson regains guard immediately.
Fabian is looking to advance position but Wobinson has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Wobinson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Fabian is now in Wobinson's guard. A big mistake from Wobinson there, giving up the dominant position!

Fabian has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Wobinson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Fabian is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Wobinson pulls down on the head and he's put Fabian to sleep! This one is all over!
