PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Monument Obelix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Sobiesky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Obelix's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, i'm stupid. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Monument Obelix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Louis Sobiesky!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Obelix swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Obelix tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sobiesky sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Obelix somewhat.

Sobiesky closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Obelix to the mat! Obelix manages to get full guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We're going to have a standup here because Monument Obelix wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sobiesky connects with a nice short shot to Obelix's temple.

Sobiesky tightens his grip and picks Obelix up, before dumping him to the ground. Obelix manages to land in guard.

Sobiesky postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Obelix is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sobiesky, into his guard.

Sobiesky is refusing to be controlled, as Obelix sits in half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Louis Sobiesky comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sobiesky has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
