The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas with a hook.
Nurmagomedov looks for a takedown but Thomas sprawls well.

Nurmagomedov takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Nurmagomedov is looking for a sweep. Thomas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Thomas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Thomas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Thomas tries to get out of the position.

Nurmagomedov throws a hook but Thomas blocks it.

Thomas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thomas lands in his opponent's guard.
Nurmagomedov has his foot on Thomas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thomas works his way back into a safe position though.

Oh but Nurmagomedov is tightening it up a little... Thomas has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Thomas reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Thomas taps out! Nice BJJ there by Nurmagomedov!
