Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Vegata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Lineker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Vegata!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Lineker!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Seu Braga and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lineker throws a low kick, looking for Vegata's leg but Vegata calmly moves out of range.
Vegata doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lineker counters with a low kick, right behind Vegata 's knee.
Lineker throws a leg kick which misses Vegata's front leg but catches the back leg as Vegata tries to avoid it.
Vegata shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lineker as he avoids it easily.
Vegata moves out of range of the body kick from Lineker.

Vegata shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lineker sprawls well. Lineker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Vegata gets slowly back to his feet.

Lineker lands a leg kick that knocks Vegata off balance momentarily.

Lineker fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Vegata.

Vegata shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lineker pinned against the cage. Lineker gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Lineker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lineker shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Good work by Vegata as he checks the leg kick.
No luck for Vegata with that takedown attempt.
Lineker throws a leg kick that is checked
and Vegata counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Lineker throws a leg kick which misses Vegata's front leg but catches the back leg as Vegata tries to avoid it.
Vegata shoots in for a double leg but Lineker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Vegata dives in and grabs Lineker's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lineker pushes down on Vegata's head and hops out.

Vegata fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lineker wants to slow Vegata down by chopping away at his legs.
Lineker will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Vegata closes the distance and clinches up with Lineker, looking for a takedown. Vegata pushes Lineker against the cage but Lineker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Lineker lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Vegata has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Vegata and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Vegata is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lineker is aware though and is defending well.

Lineker pivots, looking for a leg kick but Vegata is out of range and Lineker settles back down.

John Lineker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

John Lineker is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vegata controls Lineker momentarily but Lineker frees himself.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Antonio Vegata has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Lineker stuffs the takedown.
Vegata shoots in for a takedown but Lineker shows good takedown defense.
Vegata goes for a double leg but Lineker avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lineker continues to drive forward.
