Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ivan Volkov!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Volkov gets a double leg takedown into Yager's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Volkov stands up over Yager, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Volkov wants to pass the guard but Yager is keeping the position.
Volkov is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Volkov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Volkov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Yager's head.
Volkov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Volkov drops back looking for a leg! Yager is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yager manages to kick Volkov off! Volkov jumps back into Yager's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Volkov cracks Yager with a solid left hand.

Volkov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Volkov advances position into side control!
Volkov is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Yager's shoulder. That is not cool.
Yager really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Volkov tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Volkov has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Volkov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Yager, who protects the arm well.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Yager on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Volkov is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Yager has escaped the position, nice work there.
Volkov takes a little break here. Yager wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Volkov lands a decent elbow from side control.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Volkov is working to tighten his grip on Yager's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Yager has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Volkov is really squeezing tight and eventually Yager passes out! Volkov breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
