Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dersu Uzala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Eckhoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eckhoff has chosen Walk by Pantera as his entrance music. Chris Eckhoff is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dersu Uzala!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Eckhoff!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Uzala gets the takedown into side control.
Uzala wants to control but Eckhoff is keeping him busy.
Eckhoff wants to get back to his feet but Uzala drags him back down.

Uzala thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Eckhoff sneaks back into half guard.

Uzala seems to be looking for submissions.
Eckhoff is not content to let Uzala control the position.
Uzala is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Uzala is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Eckhoff defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Uzala has hold of Eckhoff's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Eckhoff manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Uzala can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Eckhoff is looking to escape.
Eckhoff is in all sorts of trouble here.

Eckhoff has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Uzala is proving hard to escape from.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Eckhoff cracks Uzala with a solid left hand.

Uzala is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Uzala throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Eckhoff escapes and throws Uzala's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Eckhoff decides to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dersu Uzala dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Eckhoff has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Uzala is proving hard to escape from.

Uzala has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Eckhoff is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Uzala.

Eckhoff decides to stand up, so the ref orders Uzala to his feet.

Eckhoff escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Uzala is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Eckhoff is keeping busy.

and Uzala counters with a nice double leg into side control. Eckhoff won't be happy with that.

Uzala tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Uzala with the ground and pound but Eckhoff regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Dersu Uzala overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Eckhoff manages to get to full guard.

Eckhoff looking to hit a scissor sweep but Uzala is one step ahead there.
Uzala passes Eckhoff's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Uzala is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Eckhoff is trying to stand.

Uzala wants to work for an arm triangle but Eckhoff is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Eckhoff is trying to stand up here but Uzala is controlling him well.
Eckhoff throws a strike from the bottom but Uzala passes into side control!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Uzala is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Eckhoff wants to pass the guard but Uzala is keeping the position.
Eckhoff is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Uzala is on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dersu Uzala will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Uzala looks for a takedown but Eckhoff sprawls well.
Eckhoff misses with a few strikes there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Eckhoff pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

and Uzala decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Eckhoff's guard.

Uzala is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Uzala drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Uzala jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Eckhoff wants to get back to his feet but Uzala is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Uzala stands and throws Eckhoff's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Uzala tries for a kimura but Eckhoff is defending well.
Eckhoff is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Eckhoff keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Uzala quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Uzala but it's paid off an Eckhoff is forced to tap! Nice work by Uzala.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Dersu Uzala!
