Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Farley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Zyrex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor Zyrex will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Farley slips a jab and a cross from Zyrex.

Zyrex throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Farley tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Zyrex is in Farley's guard.
Zyrex must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Zyrex forces his way into half guard.

Farley is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Zyrex pulls his head out easily.
Zyrex wants to lay and pray for a moment but Farley keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Zyrex counters with a series of strikes. Farley will be more careful next time no doubt.

Zyrex closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Zyrex lands in his opponent's guard.

Zyrex is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mauricio Farley just wasn't active enough.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Farley tries to kick Zyrex off but Zyrex keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Zyrex looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Farley tries to close the distance and clinch up but Zyrex swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Farley escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Zyrex gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Zyrex wanted to stand there but Farley had control of the position.

Zyrex passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Farley!
Zyrex avoids the attempt from Farley to control.
Victor Zyrex has got the better of the ground game so far.
Zyrex wants to control but instead Farley manages to regain half guard.
Farley is pressing down on Zyrex's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Farley had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Zyrex defends it easily.

Farley is striking off his back. Zyrex thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Farley is looking for a sweep. Zyrex is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Farley is refusing to be controlled, as Zyrex sits in half guard.
Farley wants to control but Zyrex is keeping busy.
Zyrex wants to lay and pray for a moment but Farley keeps working.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Zyrex throws a strike but Farley avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Zyrex is pushing down on Farley's leg trying to pass to half guard. Farley is fighting to maintain full guard but Zyrex has managed to sneak the leg through.
Zyrex wants to lay and pray for a moment but Farley keeps working.

Victor Zyrex showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Zyrex shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Zyrex was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Farley is trying to improve his position.

Zyrex not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Zyrex thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Farley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Well Zyrex has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
