The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuhrer misses with a body kick.

Fuhrer moves into range and clinches up with Wheeler.
Wheeler blocks the elbow strike.
Wheeler blocking some punches.
Fuhrer is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Wheeler gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Wheeler is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Fuhrer pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Fuhrer tries to throw a body punch but Wheeler avoids it by throwing Fuhrer back against the cage.
Wheeler avoiding damage as Fuhrer throws knees to the body.
Fuhrer tries to work over Wheeler's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Wheeler breaks the clinch.
Good leg kick by Fuhrer there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Austin Wheeler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fuhrer fails with a takedown attempt.

Fuhrer connects with a leg kick. Wheeler looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Fuhrer closes the distance and clinches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A frustrated look appears on Wheeler's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Fuhrer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fuhrer takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Fuhrer gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Fuhrer lands a nice leg kick that just misses Wheeler's sensitive parts.
Fuhrer throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

It looks like Austin Wheeler has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fuhrer throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Fuhrer connects with a crisp jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Wheeler enables Fuhrer to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Wheeler manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fuhrer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Wheeler seems to have recovered his senses.

Fuhrer lands a couple of elbows.
Fuhrer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wheeler works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wheeler can't keep his opponent in guard - Fuhrer advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wheeler can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fuhrer is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Fuhrer trying to control the action but Wheeler is working from the bottom.

Fuhrer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Fuhrer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Wheeler with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Wheeler has hold of Fuhrer's hands but Fuhrer slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Wheeler won't allow Fuhrer to pass to mount.
We've been informed that Wheeler has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Wheeler is in trouble now - Fuhrer has advanced to mount!

Wheeler is trying desperately to improve position.
Fuhrer lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
BOOM! Fuhrer connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Fuhrer landing strikes, looking to finish!
Fuhrer postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Wheeler badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Fuhrer around the waist but Fuhrer pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Fuhrer is the winner by TKO! Fuhrer jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gunther Fuhrer!
Gunther Fuhrer bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
