Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sherwood Montgomery (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Werty Quiop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quiop has chosen One For The Money as his entrance music. Werty Quiop acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sherwood Montgomery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Werty Quiop!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quiop fails with the takedown

and Montgomery counters with a shoot takedown. Quiop fights it but they end up in guard.
Quiop looks winded!
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Montgomery makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Montgomery stays in close to Quiop's body and controls the position.
Montgomery working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Quiop's head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Montgomery is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Montgomery looks up at the clock and then as Quiop takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Montgomery smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Montgomery really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Montgomery creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Quiop sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Montgomery's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Montgomery looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Quiop with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
