Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Goldberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frankie Edgar had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankie Edgar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Goldberg!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goldberg shoots in but Edgar avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Goldberg shoots for a takedown but Edgar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Edgar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Goldberg throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Goldberg doesn't manage to clinch there - Edgar circles away.
Goldberg shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Edgar as he jumps to the side.
Frankie Edgar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ben Goldberg.
Edgar misses with the combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Goldberg shoots for a takedown but Edgar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Edgar is looking for a sweep. Goldberg is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Edgar manages to get to full guard.
Edgar is breathing heavily.
Edgar manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Edgar moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Goldberg has worked his arm free - good work by Goldberg!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Goldberg manages to work his way to half guard, despite Edgar's best efforts.

That was a close round but I would say that Frankie Edgar will probably get the nod.

Goldberg shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Goldberg postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Edgar looks a forlorn figure.

Goldberg feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Edgar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goldberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Edgar won't allow Goldberg to sweep him here.
Goldberg lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Edgar!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Edgar is desperately trying to improve his position but Goldberg has a good base and remains in mount.

Goldberg has hold of Edgar's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Edgar manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Goldberg lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Edgar hang on?
Goldberg prevents Edgar from getting the reversal.
Goldberg postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Edgar looks a forlorn figure.
Edgar tries to reverse the position but Goldberg maintains control.
The referee warns Edgar that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Ben Goldberg comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Goldberg has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
