The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strickland avoids a kick to the body.
Strickland will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Washington avoids the head kick by Strickland.
Strickland takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Washington misses with a head kick.
Strickland blocks a head kick by Washington.
TJ Washington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Washington pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Washington shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Strickland eats them both and turns towards Washington to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Washington lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Strickland circles away quickly and effectively.
Strickland throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Strickland lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Washington has cracked Strickland with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Washington lands another huge swinging hook and Strickland tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Strickland, before Washington can land any more shots!
