The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rabago fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rabago tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Phillips swivels and escapes.
Rabago shoots for a takedown but Phillips saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Phillips changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rabago looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Phillips slips a nice elbow through Rabago's hands, connecting with Rabago's forehead.
Phillips wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rabago keeps working.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Phillips bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That's time! Rabago's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Phillips shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Phillips showed some decent athleticism there.
Phillips uses his free foot to push down on Rabago's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rabago.
