The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega loads up on a big right hand but Alonso slips the punch.

Alonso misses with a jab, cross combination.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Vega looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Alonso is nestled in close to Vega, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Vega is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Alonso pulls his head out easily.

Vega is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Alonso's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Alonso's back!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vega is persistently looking for the submission but Alonso is defending it well.
Alonso is trying to get back to his feet but Vega has full control of the position and if anything, Alonso has just worked his way into a worse spot.
