Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Desmond Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gimma Higuidibah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gimma Higuidibah has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Desmond Cooper's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Desmond Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gimma Higuidibah!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Higuidibah manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Cooper on his heels. He'll look to pass Cooper's guard now, I'm sure.
Cooper will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Higuidibah stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cooper swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Higuidibah cracks Cooper with a solid left hand.

Cooper had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Higuidibah defends it easily.
Higuidibah content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Cooper could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Higuidibah seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Higuidibah cracks Cooper with a solid left hand.

Cooper has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Higuidibah can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Higuidibah is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Higuidibah avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Higuidibah controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Higuidibah must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Higuidibah with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Higuidibah not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Cooper escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Higuidibah gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Let's hope that Higuidibah has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Higuidibah is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Gimma Higuidibah.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Higuidibah bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Cooper might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Higuidibah seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Still in half guard, Higuidibah seems content to control.
Cooper wants to get back to full guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gimma Higuidibah hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Cooper gets caught flat footed, as Higuidibah shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Gimma Higuidibah showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!



Higuidibah feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Gimma Higuidibah comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Higuidibah has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
