Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sergei Kanchelskis!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Kanchelskis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kanchelskis fails with the takedown.
Kanchelskis shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Young as he avoids it easily.
Willis Young has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergei Kanchelskis.

Young changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kanchelskis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kanchelskis stops Young from passing to mount.

Kanchelskis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Young lands a nice short elbow.

Kanchelskis parries the strikes from Young easily there. Young is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kanchelskis to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Young sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kanchelskis is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Kanchelskis manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Young knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kanchelskis on the ground.

Kanchelskis trying to control but Young is having none of it.
Young flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.

Kanchelskis looking to secure an arm triangle but Young defends it well.
Young is trying to escape the mount.
Kanchelskis trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Young is wriggling around trying to escape.

Kanchelskis pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Young counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Youngis looking to pass into half guard but Kanchelskis pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kanchelskis is in guard.
Young tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Young on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Young tries to get out of the position.

Kanchelskis thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kanchelskis trying to control the position from guard on top but Young is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Young striking off his back but it's not causing Kanchelskis any problems.
Kanchelskis won't allow Young to sweep him here.
Young doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kanchelskis tries to clinch

and Young counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kanchelskis's guard now.

Young throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Young postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Young throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kanchelskis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Young throwing strikes but missing.
Young content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Kanchelskis is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Young rolls with it to try and escape but Kanchelskis cranks on the arm and Young is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
