PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Slade Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Bolda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Bolda's choice of entrance music: Fett's Vette. Josh Bolda told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Slade Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Josh Bolda!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Wilson misses its intended target.
Wilson throws a good cross that connects.

Slade Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bolda throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilson's waist but Wilson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bolda off to one side.

Wilson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bolda's hands.

Bolda might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Bolda uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wilson.
Wilson tries to land a front kick but Bolda steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Nice straight punches there by Wilson. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Wilson.
