Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tony Tango (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Hashimoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hashimoto comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Chopin's Funeral March in B flat minor kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Keiji Hashimoto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tony Tango!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Keiji Hashimoto!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tango keeps the fight on the outside.
Hashimoto takes a jab right on the kisser.
Hashimoto tries to move into range but Tango moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
The crowd cheers as Hashimoto lands an impressive looking overhand right. Tango doesn't seem phased though.
Tango throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hashimoto sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Hashimoto gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Tango fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Tango blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Tango is trying to break the clinch but Hashimoto has him pressed against the cage.

Hashimoto has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Tango clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Hashimoto is riding his opponent, not letting Tango buck him off.
Hashimoto doesn't have the hooks in and Tango manages to turn into his guard.
Tango has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Hashimoto is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Hashimoto looking for a guillotine here but Tango defends easily.
Hashimoto looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Hashimoto tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hashimoto working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tango.
Hashimoto pulls Tango in close to his closed guard and prevents Tango from doing any damage or advancing position.
Tango wants to get up but he can't break Hashimoto's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Hashimoto is controlling Tango's posture.
Tango postures up in Hashimoto's guard and throws a big left but Hashimoto blocks it.

Hashimoto wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hashimoto wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tango's corner calls for a 1-2. Tango obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Hashimoto decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Tango tries to get to full guard but Hashimoto has control of the leg.
Hashimoto uses his free foot to push down on Tango's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tango.
Tango is squirming around, avoiding Hashimoto's attempts to control the action.
Hashimoto prevents Tango from getting the reversal.
Tango is working hard here to advance position.
Hashimoto can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tango is looking to escape.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Tango is desperately trying to improve his position but Hashimoto has a good base and remains in mount.
Hashimoto wants to take Tango's back here but Tango is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Tango is looking to improve his position but Hashimoto isn't that keen on the idea.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hashimoto trying to control but Tango is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tango ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hashimoto moves away.

Tango is trying to break free.
Hashimoto tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Tango misses with a hook from the clinch.

Hashimoto lands a right hand that snaps the head of Tango backwards.
Hashimoto throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Hashimoto is leaning against Tango and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Hashimoto tries for a takedown but Tango manages to get underhooks.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tango breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tango throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hashimoto sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Tango looks to land a combination. Hashimoto sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Hashimoto shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Well, if Hashimoto is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Hashimoto is trying to work for a kimura but Tango is defending well.
Hashimoto is looking to advance position but Tango won't allow it.
Hashimoto is keen to just control but Tango is a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hashimoto in particular looking to stall.
Tango is looking to control Hashimoto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tango avoid being mounted?

Keiji Hashimoto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hashimoto lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Tango fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hashimoto manages to avoid it.
Hashimoto throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tango misses with a straight right.
Tango throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hashimoto sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Tango just misses with a punch to the body.
Hashimoto tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Hashimoto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Tango is fending him off so far but Hashimoto persists. Nope, Tango circles away and we're back to standing.
Tango lands with an overhand left.

Tango shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hashimoto but Hashimoto pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Tango bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Keiji Hashimoto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Tango jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hashimoto is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hashimoto and Tango has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Hashimoto quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Tango has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hashimoto celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
