The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson tries to clinch but Russell moves out of range.

Wilson manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Russell on his heels. He'll look to pass Russell's guard now, I'm sure.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Russell is trying to keep Wilson in close.

You can see the frustration on Russell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Wilson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Russell is looking to escape.

Wilson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Russell haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Wilson tries to clinch up but Russell circles away and keeps his distance.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jordan Wilson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Wilson rushes Russell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jordan Wilson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Wilson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Russell's head.

Russell tries to roll over but Wilson keeps him under control.

Russell is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wilson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wilson's back!

Russell is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Russell is hanging on to Wilson's back as he tries to escape.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gregorio Russell.
Well Wilson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
