Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erwin Rommel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michal Materla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rommel's entrance music is Grashoper - Senke. A fine choice. Michal Materla has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Erwin Rommel's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rommel doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Materla counters with a takedown into side control.
Rommel tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Materla wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Materla has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rommel is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Materla.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
