The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ridela has Downs up against the cage in a clinch.
Downs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ridela just stands there and leans against the cage.
Ridela has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Ridela breaks from the clinch.

Ridela closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ridela lands in his opponent's guard.

Downs is trying to control the position but Ridela postures up.

Ridela has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Downs can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ridela is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Downs defends well.
Downs wants to get up but he can't break Ridela's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Ridela is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Downs is aware though and is defending well.
