Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hiroshi Mitzuni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Yang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kevin Yang is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yang swinging wildly here.
Mitzuni tries to clinch but Yang moves out of range.
Mitzuni misses with the combination.
Mitzuni tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Yang paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Yang counters with a single leg into guard. Mitzuni didn't expect that.
Yang looking to sit in guard and control but Mitzuni gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Yang pulls Mitzuni in close to prevent any damage.

Yang is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mitzuni is aware though and is defending well.
Yang really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mitzuni. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yang can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mitzuni is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Yang sees it coming and defends easily.

Yang tries to get to full guard but Mitzuni has control of the leg.

Mitzuni seems to be looking for submissions.
Well, if Mitzuni is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Yang is trying to control but can't.

Mitzuni missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Yang is looking for a sweep. Mitzuni is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Yang flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yang is refusing to be controlled, as Mitzuni sits in half guard.
Mitzuni tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Yang.
Yang tries to roll over but Mitzuni keeps him under control.
Yang is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mitzuni not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Yang tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Mitzuni has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mitzuni takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mitzuni tries to control but Yang wriggling away.
Poor strikes thrown by Mitzuni there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mitzuni won't let Yang get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Yang sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Yang wants to control but Mitzuni is keeping busy.

Mitzuni is looking for a kimura but Yang is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mitzuni to get the leverage.
Yang has hold of Mitzuni's hands but Mitzuni slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mitzuni is trying to control the action in half guard but Yang is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mitzuni throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Mitzuni is working for a kimura but Yang is defending it quite comfortably.
Yang wants to improve his position but Mitzuni is controlling well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mitzuni is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yang is just riding it out for now. Mitzuni eventually gives up the hold.

Yang fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mitzuni to the ground. Yang is now in Mitzuni's guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mitzuni is on top in guard.

Mitzuni postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mitzuni drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mitzuni jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kevin Yang was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Mitzuni fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Yang is out of range.
Mitzuni tries to clinch but Yang moves out of range.

Mitzuni jumps into guard, dragging Yang to the mat.

Mitzuni manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yang manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mitzuni stands and throws Yang's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Mitzuni thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Mitzuni wants to control but Yang is keeping him busy.

You can see the frustration on Yang's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Mitzuni has an Americana. Yang didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Mitzuni is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Mitzuni hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
