PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francois Duvalier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piru Parka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Duvalier might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Haitian National Anthem. Parka is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: . I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Francois Duvalier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Piru Parka!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parka takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Francois Duvalier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Duvalier finds it's way through Parka's defenses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A looping hook to the body misses from Duvalier. Parka does a little dance to reset his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Duvalier enables Parka to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Duvalier manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Parka trying to control but Duvalier is working from the bottom.
Duvalier wants to stand but Parka is controlling the position.
Parka lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Parka in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Duvalier is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at CW's Elite Kung-Fu Academy that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Parka is pushing down on Duvalier's leg trying to pass to half guard. Duvalier is fighting to maintain full guard but Parka has managed to sneak the leg through.
Parka is taking a breather. Duvalier says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Parka is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Duvalier defends it well.

Parka is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Duvalier sees it coming and defends easily.

Parka is working for a kimura but Duvalier is defending it quite comfortably.
Parka thows a huge punch but Duvalier dodges it nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Parka thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Duvalier's head.

Parka is trying for a kimura here. Duvalier looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Parka wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Piru Parka!
Piru Parka seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
