Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cenk Uygur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evaristus Cookescommons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cookescommons has chosen Dropkick Murphys - Shipping up to Boston as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Evaristus Cookescommons!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Jeff Smith and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cookescommons walks forward, straight into a front kick from Uygur.
Uygur throws a shot to the body.
Cookescommons is looking to clinch.
Cookescommons gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Uygur counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Uygur moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Cookescommons tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Uygur paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Uygur throws a left that rocks Cookescommons and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Uygur dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Cookescommons regain composure!


It looks like Evaristus Cookescommons has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Uygur wants to control but Cookescommons is keeping him busy.
Cookescommons is working to avoid the ground and pound but Uygur connects with a decent elbow.

Cookescommons drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Uygur dives on top into guard.

Uygur has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cookescommons tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Uygur wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Cookescommons is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Uygur has just dragged him back down to the mat.

We've been informed that Cookescommons has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

That's time! Uygur's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Cookescommons shoots for a double leg takedown but Uygur sprawls well. He's pushed Cookescommons's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Cookescommons takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Uygur plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Uygur lets loose with a powerful body kick. Cookescommons will feel that in the morning.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cookescommons throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cookescommons takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


Cookescommons is rocked!
Cookescommons gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Cenk Uygur!
An out of breath Cenk Uygur thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
