PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robin Verhoeven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jaakko Iloliemi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Robin Verhoeven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jaakko Iloliemi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iloliemi shoots in but Verhoeven avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nice sprawl there from Iloliemi as Verhoeven shoots in.
Verhoeven changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Iloliemi tries to avoid it but Verhoeven manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Iloliemi to the ground. Iloliemi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Iloliemi shoots in looking for a takedown. Verhoeven tries to sprawl out of it but Iloliemi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Verhoeven manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Verhoeven looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robin Verhoeven. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Iloliemi throws a jab when Verhoeven was well out of range.
Verhoeven slips under a jab.
Verhoeven walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Verhoeven fails in his attempt to clinch.

Iloliemi scores with a takedown into Verhoeven's guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Verhoeven isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Iloliemi stacks Verhoeven on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Iloliemi!
Verhoeven wants to control but Iloliemi postures up.

Verhoeven is looking to regain half guard here but Iloliemi keeps moving and retains side control.
Iloliemi connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Verhoeven some visible discomfort.

Verhoeven is not content to let Iloliemi control the position.
Verhoeven is looking for a sweep.
Verhoeven is trying to work for a sweep but Iloliemi has mounted him!
Verhoeven wants to control but Iloliemi is having none of it.
Iloliemi breaks from Verhoeven's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Verhoeven is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Iloliemi locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Verhoeven is forced to tap!
