PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Blue Rak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorma Kultane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jorma Kultane was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kultane drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

It looks like Jorma Kultane has been cut.
Kultane has a takedown stuffed.
Kultane tries to clinch

and Rak counters with a crisp one two that drops Kultane! Rak thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Kultane to his feet! Kultane is in big trouble!

Kultane is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kultane shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rak defends it nicely.
Kultane is still on wobbly legs! Can Rak finish him?

Rak closes the distance and clinches.
Rak wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Rak breaks the clinch.
Kultane seems to have recovered his senses.
Rak scores with a hook to the body. Kultane takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kultane is defended easily by Rak.
Blue Rak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jorma Kultane.
Kultane avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rak throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kultane has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rak avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Kultane is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rak to keep the fight standing.

Kultane tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rak just stands there and leans against the cage.

Kultane is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Rak pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Rak is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Rak lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Kultane is trying to pull guard but Rak turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Rak wants to break free but Kultane has control.

Rak ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rak no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Kultane makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Rak on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rak tries to get out of the position.
Kultane slips nicely into half guard.

Kultane wants to pass to mount but Rak is defending the position.

Kultane is trying to control the action in half guard but Rak is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rak blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kultane.
Kultane not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Kultane is working for a submission of some sort.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kultane tries to pass to full mount but Rak defends it.
Rak is not content to let Kultane control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kultane slips a nice elbow through Rak's hands, connecting with Rak's forehead.
Rak tries to roll over but Kultane keeps him under control.
Rak is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Hilo Training Center, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Kultane is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rak defends it well.
Rak is trying to escape back to his feet but Kultane uses the scramble to pass into side control.

Kultane thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Kultane sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rak is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Kultane working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Kultane is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rak has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kultane on the ground.
Rak gets back to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kultane is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rak is just riding it out for now. Kultane eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rak drops Kultane with a beautiful combination! Kultane stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Rak is looking for the KO!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kultane is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Kultane shoots in and drives through. Rak sprawls well.
Kultane has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Kultane showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Rak.
Rak lands a big right hook! Kultane looks hurt but is still standing! Rak lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Kultane falls down and Rak dives in with a huge hammer fist! Kultane's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Rak runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!
