Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Lemana!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lemana throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Van De Velde sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Van De Velde tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lemana manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A clash of legs there as Van De Velde blocks the low kick.
Van De Velde moves out of range as Lemana throws a body kick.
Lemana misses with a two punch combination.

Van De Velde gets caught napping as Lemana dives in and scores a takedown. Van De Velde manages to retain guard.

Lemana is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lemana slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Van De Velde prevents Lemana from improving position.

Van De Velde is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Lemana wants to finish this one by submission but Van De Velde is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Lemana.

Lemana with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Lemana is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Van De Velde is surviving well by controlling Lemana's body position as best he can.

Van De Velde's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Lemana has control of Van De Velde's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Van De Velde regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Lemana looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Lemana is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Van De Velde can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Van De Velde is pushing Lemana's head away, looking to escape. Lemana manages to hold on to the position though.

Lemana is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Van De Velde to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Van De Velde shrugs it off.

Lemana is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Van De Velde is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Van De Velde flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Lemana anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Van De Velde and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Lemana slips an arm under Van De Velde chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Lemana has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Lemana is squeezing on Van De Velde like an anaconda would it's prey. Van De Velde fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
