The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavezzi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Khuratov darts in and clinches Lavezzi up against the ropes.
Khuratov drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Khuratov manages to pull guard.
Khuratov has his hands on Lavezzi's head, controlling the position.

Lavezzi takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Andre Lavezzi wasn't active enough on the ground.
The fight stays on the outside here - Khuratov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A combination from Lavezzi does no damage.
Lavezzi tries to bum rush Khuratov with a series of wild strikes but Khuratov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Khuratov takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Lavezzi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

and Lavezzi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Khuratov dives in and grabs Lavezzi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lavezzi pushes down on Khuratov's head and hops out.

Lavezzi has closed the distance and engaged Khuratov in a clinch.

Andre Lavezzi dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lavezzi shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Khuratov eats them both and turns towards Lavezzi to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Lavezzi throws a nice looking combination but Khuratov bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lavezzi slaps away a takedown attempt from Khuratov, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Khuratov avoids a punch combination nicely.
Halid Khuratov is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lavezzi misses with the combination.
Lavezzi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Khuratov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Andre Lavezzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lavezzi lands a nice hook to Khuratov's body. Khuratov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Khuratov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lavezzi circles away.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Let's hope that Lavezzi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Khuratov seems to have got his legs back now.

Khuratov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Lavezzi lands a slapping body shot.
