The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
We've been hearing reports that Toriyama has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Toriyama fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gracie has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Toriyama lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Toriyama sizes up Gracie with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Gracie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Toriyama.
Toriyama connects with a body shot.
Akira Toriyama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Toriyama shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Toriyama's corner calls for a 1-2. Toriyama obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Toriyama fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Gracie takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Toriyama circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Gracie to the canvas! Gracie doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Toriyama keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
