PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ezekyle Abaddon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Jordan Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Ezekyle Abaddon!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bob moves into range and clinches up with Abaddon.

Abaddon escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bob lands with an overhand left.
Bob showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Abaddon.
Bob tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Abaddon swivels and escapes.
Bob jabs at Abaddon's body.
Bob throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Abaddon connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bob's hands.

and Bob counters with a nice double leg into side control. Abaddon won't be happy with that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bob looks up at the clock and then as Abaddon takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Bob smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abaddon tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bob wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bob knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Abaddon on the ground.

Abaddon takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Bob really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Abaddon is not content to let Bob control the position.
Bob creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Abaddon wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
Abaddon gets back to half guard.
Bob wants to take a breather but Abaddon is having none of it.

Bob tries to stand and escape but Abaddon is controlling the position.
Bob not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Abaddon wants to improve his position but Bob is controlling well.
Bob looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Abaddon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bob thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Abaddon's head.
Bob looks to land a strike but Abaddon avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Abaddon thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Abaddon stuffs the takedown attempt from Bob. Bob gets slowly back to his feet.
Abaddon should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Abaddon counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Bob is lucky that one didn't land flush.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Abaddon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bob wants to control but Abaddon is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Abaddon is keen to just control but Bob is a slippery customer.
Bob pushes Abaddon off looking to stand but Abaddon dives back in and keeps control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Abaddon holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bob swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Abaddon breaks the clinch.

Bob tries to keep at a distance but Abaddon has taken the fight into the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jordan Bob. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Abaddon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bob gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bob can't find room to land a body shot as Abaddon controls the action.
Abaddon prevents Bob from breaking the clinch.

Abaddon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Abaddon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bob wants to pass the guard but Abaddon is keeping the position.
Bob has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

A close second round but Ezekyle Abaddon will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Bob can't keep his opponent in guard - Abaddon advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Bob has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Abaddon is working away from the top position though.

Abaddon looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Abaddon tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bob knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Bob is looking for a sweep. Abaddon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Abaddon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bob keeps working.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bob keeps control of the position for the meantime.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Some wild striking there from Abaddon.
Bob tries to clinch but Abaddon moves away
and Abaddon counters with a left and a right that stings Bob.
Abaddon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nice takedown defense from Abaddon. No joy for Bob on that attempt.
Bob fails to land the takedown.
Abaddon connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Abaddon.
Bob shoots for a double leg takedown but Abaddon sprawls well. He's pushed Bob's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Abaddon misses with a wild combination.
Nice takedown defense from Abaddon. No joy for Bob on that attempt.

Bob moves into range and clinches up with Abaddon.

Abaddon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Bob manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Abaddon manages to get himself to full guard.
Bob lands a couple of elbows.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ezekyle Abaddon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Abaddon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
