The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Alyssa Summers and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jel sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jel looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Jel instigates a clinch.
Guy prevents Jel from breaking the clinch.
Guy is trying to maintain a safe position but Jel gets an underhook and turns Guy into the cage.
Jel can't break the clinch.
Jel has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Guy keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jel's efforts to push away.
Jel wants to break free but Guy has control.
Guy has Jel pressed against the cage, preventing Jel from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Guy takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Guy slips a jab and a cross from Jel.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jel leaves Guy with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Jel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Guy, pushing him back against the cage.

Jel looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Guy slows down the pace here.

Guy breaks from the clinch.
Jel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Guy back to the cage. Jel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Jel tries to bum rush Guy with a series of wild strikes but Guy uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jel wants it to stay on the feet.

Jel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Guy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jel paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The fight stays on the outside here - Guy looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jel throws a nice looking combination but Guy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That was a close round but I would say that Luke Guy will probably get the nod.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jel can do anything to dispel that myth.
