PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamison Freidrichs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Gustilo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jamison Freidrichs has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jamison Freidrichs seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marvin Gustilo!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Chris Dean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gustilo fails to land with a series of punches.
The fighters circle momentarily. Freidrichs darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

It looks like Marvin Gustilo has been cut.
Gustilo misses with a takedown attempt
and Freidrichs connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gustilo shoots in but Freidrichs avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Freidrichs lands a head shot.

Gustilo ducks straight into an uppercut from Freidrichs and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Gustilo manages to regain guard straight away.

Gustilo is rocked!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Freidrichs won't allow Gustilo to get back to his feet.
Gustilo keeping moving, preventing Freidrichs from controlling successfully.
Freidrichs working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Freidrichs chips away with some ground and pound.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Freidrichs won't allow Gustilo to sweep him here.
Gustilo wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Gustilo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gustilo wants to sweep but no luck.
Gustilo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Marvin Gustilo has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Freidrichs scores with a jab to the head.
Gustilo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Freidrichs as he avoids it easily.
Jamison Freidrichs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marvin Gustilo.
Gustilo gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Freidrichs gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Gustilo is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
