The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Grimes.
It looks like Oleg Karev has been cut.
Karev stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Grimes.
Grimes has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Grimes misses with a kick to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Grimes pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Karev defending well as Grimes loads up on a big left hand.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Karev crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Grimes - the referee stops the clock and Karev gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Grimes. Karev manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Karev takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Grimes throws a leg kick that is checked
and Karev counters with a one-two to the body.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Grimes goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Karev has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Grimes.

Good leg kick by Grimes there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Grimes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Karev.
Karev takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Karev misses with an attempted mid kick.
Karev takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Some bone on bone action there as Karev checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Grimes thows a left - swing and a miss!
Grimes throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Grimes, right into the meat.
Grimes fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Karev on the side of the head.
Karev has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Grimes darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Oleg Karev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Grimes tries to land a front kick but Karev steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Karev with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Grimes to score with a decent uppercut.
Karev is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
The fighters circling - Grimes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Karev clinches up with Grimes and pushes him back against the cage.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Grimes creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Karev throws a series of punches but Grimes avoids them all with ease.

Buster Grimes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karev steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Grimes. That one must have hurt.

Buster Grimes really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that STEEL PENN'S 160 OF STEEL $50 Hilo logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
