PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wandy Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yazan Naber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Wandy Silver has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wandy Silver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yazan Naber!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Naber fails with a takedown attempt.
Naber looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Silver is looking to clinch but Naber is avoiding it.
Silver moves in looking to clinch but Naber pushes him off.
Silver throws a right hand that Naber ducks under and follows up with a left that Naber also avoids with ease.
Silver throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Wandy Silver seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silver throws a left that rocks Naber and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Silver dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Naber regain composure!

Silver stands up and we're back to a striking position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Naber changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silver tries to avoid it but Naber manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silver to the ground. Silver escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silver throws a nice looking combination but Naber bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Silver tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Naber paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Silver tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silver is trying to stand but he's not in a good position to be doing that! Naber has taken his back!

Naber misses with an elbow to the head.

Silver is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Naber gets his way!

What can Silver do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Naber is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Silver is defending well though. Naber let's go of the attempt for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Naber is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Silver has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Silver knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Naber on the ground.

Silver's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Naber wants to finish this one by submission but Silver is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Naber.

Naber is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Silver is surviving well by controlling Naber's body position as best he can.

Naber looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Naber working for a guillotine from mount but Silver is in no mood to give up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Naber sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That was a close second round but I would say that Wandy Silver will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Silver throws a right hand that Naber ducks under and follows up with a left that Naber also avoids with ease.

Naber takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Naber misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Yazan Naber has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silver is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Yazan Naber comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Silver has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
