PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Tommy Oosthuizen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiang Shi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Shi's choice of entrance music: See You In Hell by Grim Reaper. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shi attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Oosthuizen has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Demon's Elite Gym (13 Elite) in the buildup to the fight.
Shi takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Shi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Oosthuizen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Oosthuizen blocks a head kick by Shi.
Oosthuizen connects with a body shot that sends Shi's belly button to the back.
Tommy Oosthuizen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Oosthuizen, as that shot connected.
Oosthuizen works Shi's body with a nice hook.
Shi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Shi lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Oosthuizen thuds a left hand into Shi's body.
Oosthuizen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shi fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Oosthuizen.
Shi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Shi misses with a body kick.
Shi throws a head kick that misses.
Oosthuizen connects with a looping right hand.
Shi throws a right and a left that Oosthuizen avoids nicely.
Oosthuizen throws a body punch but Shi moves out of range.
Shi tries to clinch up but Oosthuizen circles away and keeps his distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oosthuizen misses with a hook.
Oosthuizen stuns Shi with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Oosthuizen gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Shi.
Shi walks into a straight right hand from Oosthuizen.
Shi drops his hands momentarily and Oosthuizen takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Oosthuizen uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Shi.
Shi throws a front kick aimed at Oosthuizen's knee but Oosthuizen avoids it well.
Oosthuizen scores with a decent looking hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The fighters circling - Shi throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Good shot there by Oosthuizen.
Shi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Oosthuizen swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A jab from Oosthuizen misses.
Shi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice body punch from Oosthuizen.
Shi throws a wild body kick that Oosthuizen sees coming a mile off.
Oosthuizen jabs Shi to the body, keeping him at a distance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Shi.
Oosthuizen bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Shi's head backwards.
Oosthuizen dips to his left and cracks Shi with an uppercut!
Shi misses with a low kick.
Oosthuizen just misses with a punch to the body.
Shi throws a chopping leg kick but Oosthuizen manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
The fight stays on the outside here - Shi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Oosthuizen throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Shi on the side of the head.
Oosthuizen fails to land with a series of punches.
Shi cracks Oosthuizen with an open hand slap.
Oosthuizen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Oosthuizen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shi moves away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Shi moves into range and clinches up with Oosthuizen.
Oosthuizen avoids a wild elbow strike from Shi.
Oosthuizen lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shi backwards.
Oosthuizen working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
