Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowman gets caught flat footed, as Barral shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bowman wants to sweep but no luck.
Barral drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Bowman dives on top into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Barral escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bowman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bowman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Bowman working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Bowman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Barral has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bowman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bowman drops back looking for a leg! Barral is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Barral manages to kick Bowman off! Bowman jumps back into Barral's guard.

Bowman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barral has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bowman has managed to get both his arms back between Barral's legs - danger averted.
Bowman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barral swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bowman has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Barral to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Bowman is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Barral pulls down on the head and he's put Bowman to sleep! This one is all over!
