The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bengtsson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gallegos.
Gallegos works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Gallegos tries to sprawl but Bengtsson drives through with a takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Bengtsson is keen to just control but Gallegos is a slippery customer.
Bengtsson passes into side control, despite Gallegos's attempt to control the position.

You can see the frustration on Gallegos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Bengtsson is staying tight to Gallegos's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Let's hope that Bengtsson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bengtsson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bengtsson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gallegos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bengtsson has managed to get both his arms back between Gallegos's legs - danger averted.
Gallegos wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bengtsson wants to pass the guard but Gallegos is keeping the position.

Bengtsson passes Gallegos's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Bengtsson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Gallegos!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
