The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zyrex closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Austin is pressed up against the cage. Zyrex has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Austin down to the mat. Austin avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Austin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Zyrex circles away quickly and effectively.
Zyrex shoots in but no luck this time.
Zyrex fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Austin manages to avoid it.
Zyrex connects with a leg kick. Austin looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Zyrex is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Victor Zyrex hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Zyrex changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Austin tries to avoid it but Zyrex manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Austin to the ground. Austin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well Zyrex has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
