The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Steele there.

It looks like Kimbo Slice has been cut.
Slice keeps the fight on the outside.

Slice clinches up with Steele and pushes him back against the cage.
Steele on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Slice blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Slice blocks an elbow strike from Steele.

Steele manages to break the clinch.
Slice avoids a punch combination nicely.
Steele looks to land a left hand but Slice moved out of range nicely.

Slice shoots in for a double leg but Steele sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Steele rushes Slice and presses him up against the cage.
Steele is trying to break the clinch but Slice has him pressed against the cage.
Slice tries to throw a body punch but Steele avoids it by throwing Slice back against the cage.

Slice tries to pull guard but Steele holds him up against the cage and eventually Slice drops back down to his feet.

Slice looking to hit a scissor sweep but Steele is one step ahead there.
Steele wants to get up but he can't break Slice's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Slice is working an open guard so Steele takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Slice tries to close the distance and clinch up but Steele swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Slice throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Steele.

Slice doesn't manage to clinch there - Steele circles away.

Steele tries to land knees in the clinch but Slice avoids the damage to the body.
Steele swings wildly with an uppercut but Slice uses good head movement to avoid it.
Steele lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Slice backwards.
A left hand lands to the body for Steele.
Slice is breathing heavily.
Steele lands a left hand.
Steele digs a right hand into Slice's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Slice's gas tank.
Steele lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Steele jumps guard and drags Slice to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Steele is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Steele has his feet on Slice's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Steele is looking to clinch but Slice is avoiding it.

Steele lands an elbow that stopped Slice in his tracks for a moment.
Steele pushes off an throws an elbow but Slice leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Slice has picked Steele up - he's going for a ride! Slice dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Steele has one foot on Slice's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Steele throws a big shot that misses.
Slice feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Steele's calf.

and Steele counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Slice throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Steele.
Slice lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Steele has taken the fight to the clinch.
Steele missing with knees to the body.
Slice can't break the clinch.
Steele tries a knee to the head but Slice blocks it.
Slice has Steele pushed against the cage.
Steele scores with a nice hook to the head.
Slice gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Steele.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Steele.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Steele lands an elbow inside.
Slice jumps guard but Steele stands there with Slice around his waist. Slice gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kimbo Slice. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Slice trying to control the position but instead, Steele has worked for underhooks and has pushed Slice into the cage.

Slice scores a takedown into full mount!
Steele is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Slice tries to control but Steele wriggling away.

Slice is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Steele is surviving well by controlling Slice's body position as best he can.
Steele really wants to buck Slice off and get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Steele is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Slice raining down shots from the mount!
Steele is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Slice trying to control but Steele is having none of it.

Slice wants to finish this one by submission but Steele is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Slice.
Steele's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Steele swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Steele is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Slice landing strikes, looking to finish!

Steele tries to buck Slice off so he can stand up but Slice has got his back now - this could be big trouble! He's slapped on a rear naked choke that looks really tight! Steele falls backwards, slamming Slice to the mat but Slice holds on tight! Steele is forced to tap and this one is all over!
