The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lachida darts in looking for a takedown but Barnett gets double underhooks and turns Lachida into the cage.

Barnett manages to break the clinch.
Lachida shoots in for a takedown but Barnett shows good takedown defense.
Barnett gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Lachida counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Lachida.
Barnett controls Lachida momentarily but Lachida frees himself.
Lachida keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Barnett's head.

Barnett is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lachida defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barnett has his foot on Lachida's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lachida works his way back into a safe position though.

Lachida is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Barnett looks calm but he's in trouble here. Lachida gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Barnett is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Lachida lets go of the hold and Barnett can pop his arm back in it's socket.
