Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Sonnen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryuku Kuro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sonnen has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Steve Sonnen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kuro takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Kuro takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A punch combination from Sonnen misses.
Some wild striking there from Sonnen.
Sonnen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kuro moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Sonnen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kuro was well out of range. Poor timing from Sonnen.
Sonnen throws a right and a left that Kuro avoids nicely.
Sonnen misses with a looping right.
Sonnen shoots in for a takedown but Kuro shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sonnen is breathing heavily.
Kuro steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sonnen.
Kuro slaps away a takedown attempt from Sonnen, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Kuro ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

No joy there for Sonnen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Sonnen swings for the body but Kuro moves out of range.
Sonnen misses the shot to the body.
Sonnen dives in for a single leg takedown but Kuro sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Sonnen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
