The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Recksun misses with the combination.
Herbert fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Recksun misses with a double jab.
Recksun tries to clinch but Herbert is having none of it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Recksun looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Herbert shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Recksun as he jumps to the side.
Recksun misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Recksun fails to land with a series of punches.
Herbert avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Recksun moves away from the strike by Herbert.
Herbert avoids a punch combination nicely.
Recksun fails with an attempt to clinch.
Herbert tries for a takedown but Recksun sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hugh Recksun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Herbert.
Herbert changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Recksun tries to avoid it but Herbert manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Recksun to the ground. Recksun escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Recksun throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Herbert fails to pull guard.

Recksun breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A slow jab from Herbert misses its intended target.
Recksun swinging wilding here.
Recksun is looking to clinch but Herbert is avoiding it.
Herbert shoots for a takedown but Recksun saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Recksun will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Recksun tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Recksun fails in his attempt to clinch.

Herbert shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Herbert connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

It looks like Hugh Recksun has been cut.
You get the feeling that Recksun really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Herbert cracks Recksun with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Hugh Recksun's cut is getting worse.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Herbert lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Recksun hang on?

Jeez, Hugh Recksun's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Hugh Recksun's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
