The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Saunders fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Medvedev, pushing him back against the cage.

Medvedev has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Saunders regains guard immediately.
Medvedev postures up in Saunders's guard and throws a big left but Saunders blocks it.

Medvedev shoots in and bounces Saunders off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Medvedev loads up on a big left hand. Saunders felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Medvedev looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Saunders can't hide his disappointment, as Medvedev celebrates the victory.
