PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ricky White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cortez Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White comes into the arena with Chelsea Dagger blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ricky White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cortez Coleman !
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Coleman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
White throws a front kick that sends Coleman stumbling back into the cage.
Coleman slips a jab and a cross from White.
Coleman walks into a straight right hand from White.
Ricky White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
White throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Coleman counters with a thumping low kick.
White will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

White closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Coleman 's guard.
We've been hearing that White has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
White has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

White seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Coleman for as long as he can get away with.

We're going to have a standup here because Ricky White wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

White shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Coleman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
White is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ricky White showed his dominance in that final round.
Well White has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Ricky White was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
