Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miranda shoots for a takedown but Browne saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Browne fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Miranda, pushing him back against the cage.
Browne prevents a body shot from Miranda.
Browne drops down looking for an ankle pick but Miranda pulls his leg out and moves away.
Miranda shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Browne pinned against the cage. Browne gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Miranda dives in and grabs Browne's left leg, looking for a takedown. Browne pushes down on Miranda's head and hops out.
Travis Browne has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gustavo Miranda.
Browne tries to clinch but Miranda moves out of range.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee asks Miranda politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Miranda prefers to stall for the moment though.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Gustavo Miranda hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Browne doesn't manage to clinch there - Miranda circles away.

Miranda closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Browne's guard.

Miranda tries to score a power double leg takedown but Browne sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Miranda somewhat.
We've been told by Browne's head coaches at Cozad The Island that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Gustavo Miranda wasn't active enough on the ground.

Miranda closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Miranda is working to tighten his grip on Browne's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Browne has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Miranda is really squeezing tight and eventually Browne passes out! Miranda breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
