Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, William Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jordan Sonnen!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Sonnen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sonnen.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Wallace is trying to improve his position.
Sonnen tries to score with some ground and pound. Wallace controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Wallace has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Sonnen in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Sonnen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Sonnen goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wallace rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Sonnen's guard! Nice work there by Wallace!
Wallace seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Sonnen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Sonnen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Wallace advances to half guard.

Wallace is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sonnen defends it well.

Wallace is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Wallace is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Wallace is looking for a kimura but Sonnen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Wallace to get the leverage.

Wallace seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sonnen does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sonnen has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Wallace escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Wallace!

Wallace decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wallace is looking to take a break and control but Sonnen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sonnen wants to improve his position but Wallace is controlling well.

Wallace is thwarting Sonnen's attempts to control the position.
Wallace working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Sonnen wants to get back to full guard.

Wallace in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Sonnen tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Wallace!
