Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tomas Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dranik Jerhard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dranik Jerhard has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Tomas Palmer's chin.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jerhard clinches.
Jerhard lands a damaging elbow.

It looks like Tomas Palmer has been cut.
Palmer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Jerhard decides to pull guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Jerhard keeping moving, preventing Palmer from controlling successfully.
Jerhard trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Tomas Palmer wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Jerhard throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Palmer tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jerhard is in Palmer's guard.

Jerhard decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Palmer tries to stand but Jerhard is controlling from the bottom.

Dranik Jerhard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jerhard tries to buck Palmer off but Palmer is having none of it.

Jerhard can't do much from the bottom here.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Dranik Jerhard.
Jerhard throws a sloppy head kick and Palmer moves out of range easily.

Jerhard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Palmer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Jerhard moves into the clinch successfully.

Jerhard drags the fight down to the ground.
Jerhard seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jerhard walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Palmer checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Palmer drives through and clinches with Jerhard against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Jerhard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jerhard closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Palmer takes an elbow to the forehead.
Jerhard missing with knees to the body.
Jerhard misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Jerhard breaks from the clinch.

Jerhard gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jerhard gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Palmer is trying to drag Jerhard to the mat but Jerhard just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Palmer takes an elbow to the temple.

Tomas Palmer's cut is getting worse.
Palmer is working for takedown but Jerhard is calmly controlling the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Jerhard gets a clinch.
Palmer is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jerhard pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Jerhard has Palmer pressed against the cage, preventing Palmer from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Jerhard lands a nice elbow.
Palmer can't get the takedown.

Palmer is rocked!
Clinched against the cage, Jerhard lands a big elbow that drops Palmer! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Palmer is complaining that he's OK but he was done.
