The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vari thuds his right hand into Cresta's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Cresta misses with a double jab
and Vari counters with a straight right hand.
Cresta will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cresta jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Cresta ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vari moves away.
Vari slips a jab from Cresta.
Cresta scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Cresta looks to score with a jab to the body but Vari is just out of range.
Cresta uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vari.
Vari throws a front kick that sends Cresta stumbling back into the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vari's corner calls for a 1-2. Vari obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Vari throws out a loose jab but Cresta uses good head movement to avoid it.
Vari fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Cresta connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Vari's hands.

and Vari finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

and Vari makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Cresta seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Cresta cracks a nice hook into Vari's ribs.
Vari moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Cresta lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vari circles away quickly and effectively.
A big right from Vari misses.

Vari drives through and clinches with Cresta against the cage.
Vari is leaning against Cresta and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Cresta tries to stall but Vari uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Vari escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Vari, right into the meat.
Cresta throws a nice looking combination but Vari bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Cresta fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Vari manages to avoid it.

Vari has closed the distance and engaged Cresta in a clinch.

Vari pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Cresta throws a left and a right that both miss
and Vari connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Vari lands a jab to the nose.
Cresta throws a series of punches but Vari avoids them all with ease.
Vari swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Cresta.
Cresta takes a shot to the body in his stride.

and Vari counters with a series of strikes that really hurt Cresta! The ref looks into his eyes and sees nobody home - he's called the fight! This one is all over!

During a confident post fight interview, Nari Vari thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
